Plus, we have three more interesting stats from another exciting weekend of the Premier League.

Another exciting round of the Premier League has gone by. Being the Matchday since the international break, fans were eager to see their favorite teams on the pitch once again.

There were some surprise results over the weekend; with only two of the top six teams winning – Liverpool and Spurs. Arsenal remain outside the top five after only managing a 2-2 draw with Man City, and Chelsea’s shocked home defeat to Crystal Palace saw their lead at the top drop to seven.

Here’s how the table currently looks:

1. Arsenal ARE NOT worse than last season

Last campaign, Arsenal threatened for the title, suffered their annually dip in form and thus crashed out of the title race, yet still nicked second-spot. This time around, they are in sixth and in danger of failing to qualify for the Champions League for the first time under Wenger.

Thus, the mayhem that broke loose between the fans during the 2-2 was embarrassing, but not surprising. They want Arsene out, and they want it as soon as possible.

However, the idea that this is Arsenal’s worse season in year isn’t accurate. The Gunners are not performing worse this season in comparison to last.. In fact, their numbers are identical after 28 games.

2016/17: 53 points after 28 games (W15 D6 L7)

2015/16: 53 points after 28 games (W15 D6 L7)

2. Sam Allardyce sets a record vs. Chelsea

Sam Allardyce led Crystal Palace onto the Stamford Bridge pitch on Saturday. Little expected the Eagles to grab a point, let alone walk away with all three points.

However, triumph they did. The away side fought back from a goal down to win 2-1. That victory saw their English manager set a new record:

3. Mourinho’s unbeaten runs continues

Man United were unable to win this round, playing out a goalless draw with West Brom. The Red Devils were ravaged by fatigue, injuries, and a suspension to top-scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

However, the result did see the Special One stretch his unbeaten run to 40 games. This is the longest spell the Portuguese boss has gone without a defeat since October 2005 with the Blues.

4. Shakespeare justifying Leicester’s trust in him

Some may still be sad to see Claudio Ranieri out of work, but the Leicester board could not care less. The reason: their form has gravely improved under Craig Shakespeare.

Since taking over, the former assistant manager has won every single game in the Premier League. On Saturday, Shakespeare became the first English manager to win his first four games after beating Stoke City 2-0.
