On Saturday, play resumed in the Premier League with one of football’s most exciting derbies: Liverpool vs. Everton. The Reds went in search of their first league double over their neighbors since 11/12.
And the Anfield side achieved that. Jurgen Klopp’s boys won the clash 3-1, moving into third temporarily – Man City can reclaim their spot if they beat Arsenal on Sunday. The game had everything: excitement, heated clashes, and an excellent golazo.
In the first-half, Philippe Coutinho scored an unforgettable goal to help the home side head into the break with the advantage. The Brazilian ran past one defender before curling a lovely shot into the net past two sliding defenders.

Coutinho wasn’t done, however. With the game 2-1, he set up Origi for the third to put the game beyond the Toffees reach. He was then taken off to a standing ovation.
The win also saw Klopp set a record. He became the first Liverpool boss to win his first three Merseyside Derbies, having won at Goodison Park 1-0 earlier this season.
