Here's a quick roundup of MLS action this weekend....

The third round of the new MLS season kicks off this weekend great fixtures to look forward to. There will be an action-packed weekend, especially on Saturday when two giants New York City FC and Montreal Impact clash.

Patrick Vieira's men have played two games so far, won one and lost one. On the other hand, the Impact are yet to find their first win of the 2017 MLS having lost their opening game to San Jose Earthquakes, then registered a 2-2 draw with Seattle Sounders in a thriller last weekend. And what a way to earn their first three points when they take on the Pigeons on Saturday at the Yankee Stadium!

Montreal Impact's Matteo Mancosu( right)challenges Sounders FC's Roman Torres last weekend in the 2-2 drawMeanwhile, western conference outfit Vancouver Whitecaps will take on their eastern conference counterparts Toronto FC in an all-Canadian affair. Toronto have registered two draws in their first two opening games, while Vancouver have one draw and one defeat so far in the first two openers. Basically, none of them have won a game in the new season and it would be interesting to see who blinks first when they clash this weekend.

Kaka's Orlando City, who have played only one game so far (the 1-0 win over NYCFC on the opening weekend), will now play Philadelphia Union this Saturday. And there will be no excuses!

Another exciting fixture to look out for is the Real Salt Lake vs La Galaxy game. These two teams sit at the ninth and 10th positions on the log respectively, but none of them have won a match so far. Galaxy have lost all their opening games while Salt Lake have only one draw.

Then there is the big game on Sunday pitting MLS Cup defending champions Seattle Sounders vs New York Red Bulls. Sounders are still without a win so far, having registered one draw and one defeat in the first two opening games. On the other hand, the Red Bulls have won all their two games. But Sunday's trip to the Century Link stadium, the nosiest in the MLS, could prove difficult for them to earn at least a point. Will the Sounders impress their vocal fans at home with their first win of the new season? It won't be too long untill we find out!
