Team news

In Man City’s last game, they traveled to Huddersfield and drew 0-0 in that FA Cup clash. On Tuesday, they will host Monaco in the Champions League round of 16, with victory being vital.

The Citizens will need a convincing first-leg win in order to avoid a complicate affair in the return fixture, but will need Sergio Aguero to find his scoring boots. The Argentine has been reinstated in Pep Guardiola’s starting eleven, and must stake his claim in the starting eleven in Gabriel Jesus’ absence.

The Brazilian forward will not feature for Man City for up to three months after breaking his foot in the win over Bournemouth in the league. It halted the Selecao ace’s perfect start to life in England.

Vincent Kompany will miss this tie due to a leg injury, whilst Gael Clichy hopes to recover from a back injury in time. Ilkay Gundogan remains a long-term absentee.

Monaco also has a worry in the form of Gabriel Boschilia’s fitness. The attacking midfielder will sit this one out, as he is yet to recover from a cruciate injury.
