Match facts

  • Barcelona are undefeated in their last 15 league games.
  • They enter into this round only a point behind leaders Real Madrid, but have played two extra games.
  • Scoring at Camp Nou will prove difficult for Leganes, as Barcelona goal has been breached only twice in their last seven home games in La Liga.
  • The away side have lost their last three games, and are without a win in their last 10.
  • Luis Enrique’s boys lost 4-0 to PSG in the Champions League in their last fixture.

Team news

La Liga will be a welcome shift in focus for Barcelona.  A win in round 23 will return things to normal despite their midweek loss, but that defeat will never escape from their memories.

The Blaugrana traveled to face PSG in the Champions League on Tuesday, with many tipping Messi and Co. to win this fixture. However it was the French that won – 4-0 – leaving the Catalan giants in mayhem.

Luis Enrique need s to win, as rumors of his sacking are already on its way. Plus, Real Madrid will have played one of their games-in-hand as of next week, meaning only victory will aid the Blaugrana’s title hopes.

Ivan Rakitic, who was overlooked in the 4-0 defeat after Andres Iniesta and Andre Gomes lost the midfield battle in emphatic style. However, that position – midfield – isn’t the only area of concern for Barcelona.

Defense is a huge worry for Luis Enrique. Without Javier Mascherano (hamstring) and Aleix Vidal (ankle), Samuel Umtiti and Sergi Roberto deputized to horrific outcomes. Against Leganes, their attacking threat will be lesser, but a headache nonetheless.
