Serie A - Matchday 25 overview

Juventus will be seeking to make it ten wins out of ten against Palermo. For all intents and purposes, the first game of matchday 25 looks set to be as lopsided a clash as any during this round. Whilst the Bianconeri chase an unprecedented sixth straight Scudetto, the Rosanero are in a desperate and losing battle to avoid the drop. With their upcoming Champions League tie against Portuguese outfit Porto coming up, it will be interesting to see if Massimiliano Allegri opts to mix things up a bit for what should be a straightforward victory for La Vecchia Signora on home turf.

Napoli will now have to turn their attention back to domestic affairs after their own Champions League commitments midweek. The Partenopei ended up unfortunately losing 3-1 to Real Madrid, but given that this is only their second attempt in the round of 16, whilst Los Blancos are the all-time winners in the Champions League, that result wasn't surprising. Still, it was not the utter humiliation most Real Madrid fans had expected to see, and Maurizio Sarri's side to have a faint glimmer of hope due to Lorenzo Insigne's away goal.

However, Sarri will expect his side to get back to business. Chievo can be a frustrating side to deal with, and the Flying Donkeys are notorious for their ultra-defensive approach, especially at home. Meanwhile, Inter will be looking to close the gap on the top three as they travel to face a Bologna side who are on a three match losing streak, but Atalanta will have the same objective in mind as they host debutants Crotone.

Finally, AC Milan and Fiorentina will wrap up this matchday with a must-see clash at the Stadio San Siro. Both the Rossoneri and the Viola have had their difficulties this season, and both will be desperate to get their quest for European football back on track as they are both outside of the top five.
