Dortmund looking to get back to winning ways

Prior to their shock 2-1 loss to relegation candidates Darmstadt, Dortmund had gone nine games sans defeat across all competitions. However, Thomas Tuchel's side had drawn six of those, so that clearly shows Dortmund have a lot of work do to.  Prior to their loss to Darmstadt needed spot-kicks to take down Hertha Berlin in the DFB-Pokal round of 16, but still are in contention for that trophy.

Still, despite their struggles in the Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund have done well in the Champions League. They finished top of their quartet, ahead of reigning champs Real Madrid, and with 21 goals, were the highest scoring side out of any of the 16 qualifying for this round. Whilst they will be missing Mario Götze and Sven Bender due to injury, Dortmund do boast one of the strongest attacks remaining in this tournament. Furthermore, their strong away record, which has seen them win seven out of their 11 road European fixtures is something not to be discounted as they prepare to take on Benfica.

As for the Portuguese outfit, they were far from impressive in their group stage campaign. In fact, they were lucky just to even get out of their group as they scraped by to finish second with only eight points. However, they have a strong home record, with just two defeats in their last 10 Champions League home fixtures and come into this match having won their league tie last week.
