All 20 sides have now played 23 games, and as things are shaping up, the Bianconeri have a seemingly insurmountable lead over the chasing pack. Serie A - Matchday 24 overview
Is a seven point gap really a bridge too far? Juventus fans will hope so, whilst Roma and Napoli supporters will obviously hope not. As things are, La Vecchia Signora are pretty much in cruise control. They will travel to face Cagliari on Sunday, fresh off dispatching Crotone in their midweek make-up game. And given that the Rossoblu have the second worst-defense (48 goals conceded) behind Pescara's 50, the odds are heavily stacked in Massimiliano Allegri's side's favor to clinch all three points.
Speaking of Pescara, the Delfini are still the only team yet to win an actual game on the pitch, and predictably, they sit in last place. Time is running out for them to salvage any hope of remaining afloat as they head to the Stadio Olimpico to lock horns with Torino. The Granata, meanwhile, have seen their European qualifying ambitions go up in smoke and are on a five-match winless streak.
Napoli welcome Genoa on Friday to kick off matchday 24, fresh after crushing Bologna 7-1, but the Partenopei will have to make do without one of their talismanic players. On Sunday, the Giallorossi head to Crotone's home ground, and will be looking to do like Juventus did and pick up all three points against the debutants. Luciano Spalletti's men humiliated Fiorentina 4-0 midweek, and set a record in the process: 14 straight home wins.
As for the Viola, they're in action against Udinese Saturday. Inter will try to rebound from their narrow Derby d'Italia loss that snapped a seven game winning streak in Serie A. Finally, on Monday, AC Milan travel to the Eternal City to face Lazio. The Aquile are fresh off a 6-2 hammering of Pescara and will hope to take advantage of the Diavolo's wobbly form as they continue their quest to qualify for European competition next term.
