El Tri, led by experienced players Giovani Dos Santos and Rafa Márquez, enters this game with a host of Liga MX's rising talents. Left back Jesús Gallardo and goalkeeper Hugo Gonzalez are set to make their debut with Mexico's senior squad, among other players called up by their Colombian coach. 

On the other side of the pitch, Iceland's boss was forced to call up players from Swedish and Norwegian leagues, leaving all of their heroes playing with their clubs. The most experienced players in this squad are Hallgrimur Jonasson(15 caps), Kristin Jonsson (7 caps) and goalkeeper Ingvar Jonsson (6 caps). The rest of the players in this team are not as experienced as those who played in the continental tournament back in June.
