A Copa MX match could have ended up in tragedy, as Mexican footballer Yasser Corona left the stadium with a cervical vertebrae fracture.

During the game between Correcaminos and Xolos Tijuana, the team Corona plays for, the former El Tri center back cleared a cross from his team's box, but he could not avoid being hit by striker Eduardo Juarez, who managed to lower his head to avoid further damage.

Corona convulsed on the pitch, which prompted a swift reaction by his team's medical staff, who took the player to a hospital.

There, the doctor's prognosis determined Corona suffered cervical vertebrae fracture, which will require surgery. We just can wish the footballer a speedy recovery, and hopefully, we will see him once again on the pitch.
