An unnamed Chinese Super League club wants to sign Sebastian Giovinco from Toronto FC, but the club has denied the reports.

Sebastian Giovinco is a trademark name in the MLS - there is no doubt about that. The Italian superstar, who recently turned 30, has been a key player at Toronto FC.

With a total of 45 goas in 72 appearances for the reds, it is not a surprise that his name is being whispered silently in the Chinese football markets as various clubs prepare their wallets for a possible move.

Toronto FC have vehemently denied reports that the superstar is being eyed by an unnamed Chinese Super League outfit, and even insisting that there has been no contact whatsoever between the two parties. But judging from the recent transfers of superstars such as John Obi Mikel and Oscar, formerly of Chelsea, Carlos Tevez, Hulk, Ezequiel Lavezzi and many others, it is too early to rule out Giovinco's rumoured interest from the Asian money-bags.

A quick look at his CV also proves why Chinese clubs are relishing the chance to sign him; the ex-Juve man has been named in the MLS All-Star and Best XI teams in 2015 and 2016, won the MLS MVP and MLS Golden Boot award in 2015, and also clinched the MLS Newcomer of the Year award. It would be interesting to see just how much his suitors are willing to spend on his signature given that he earns approximately $7.6m a year at the Canadian club, and seems to enjoy life in Toronto.
