The Citizens fell to another disappointing results, whilst Arsenal's Swiss midfielder was sent off yet again.

It wasn’t long ago when talk of a rift between Diego Costa and Antonio Conte had Chelsea fans worrying whether they would blow their shot at winning the Premier League. Their recent 2-0 win over Hull City has washed away any fears of the Blues throwing away their huge lead.

Instead, focus has shifted elsewhere. Here’s what fans are talking about after 22 rounds in the Premier League.

Is Pep Guardiola failing Manchester City?

Most Premier League follower would have tipped Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho to battle it for the league crown. Although Man United bowed out of the race early, Man City’s exit came later and in a bad manner.

Many expect the Spaniard to be the man to improve the Citizens after replacing Manuel Pellegrini, but the club’s performance has gone down. The recent 2-2 draw with Spurs left them in fifth – outside a Champions League spot – and trailing leaders Chelsea by 12 points.

They were two goals ahead against Pochettino’s side, but failed to win, a first in two years for Man City. Guardiola is failing the Citizens, but he has enough time to turn the club around.

Xhaka’s awful discipline

Granit Xhaka was expected to hit the ground running upon completing his Arsenal move. However, one thing looks to hold him back from succeeding in England: his disciplinary record.

Known for his sending offs in Germany, the Swiss midfielder has continued his lack of composure in the Premier League. This was clear for all to see in the 2-1 win over Burnley, as he was given a straight red for a two-legged tackle.

It was the second time this season that he was sent off by Jon Mason, and it was his 9th red card in three seasons. This means Xhaka will miss Arsenal’s trip to Stamford Bridge as part of a four-game suspension.
