The Gabonese striker discussed his future with Borussia Dortmund, and whether he will stay with them past this summer.

Borussia Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang may be away at the 2017 African Cup of Nations, but speculation regarding his future in Europe continues. He was linked with a world-record move to China, but no one expected the Real Madrid to pack up his bags for the Far East.

The Gabonese forward is an admired of Los Blancos, and has admitted in the past that he would find turning down the 11-time Champions League winners difficult. Now, though, he has thrown any potential Santiago Bernabeu move into doubt.

Speaking to Fussball Bild, the 27-year-old refused to commit to staying with his current Bundesliga employers past this summer. However, when asked if Les Merengues are his dream club should he leave Signal Iduna Park, Aubameyang insisted that Real Madrid aren’t the only team in the world.

"Nobody can foresee the future," the 27-year-old said. "I love it at Dortmund, but I can't say that I'll stay for two more years, or five or 10. It's possible that a club could reach an agreement with Dortmund in June and I'll go."

"I want to be honest: When you are ambitious and also want to see something else ... it's difficult to talk about. Some players have ambitions, and therefore they leave and want to experience something new, you know."

"Yes, yes [Real Madrid are my dream team]. That's true but, you know, there is not only Real Madrid in this world."

"I don't know if that's true but, also, I am not interested in it," he said. "If Real want me, they will call me one day and, if not, no problem. I live my life and am optimistic about the future."

Aubameyang also revealed the one club he would never join. Dortmund fans who are seething at seeing Lewandowski and Hummels at Bayern Munich can rest assured, as the speedy striker admitted he will never join the German champions.

"I would never join Bayern," he said. "That's for sure. That would be too hard on the Dortmund fans. Whatever they'd offer me, I'd say no."
