Match facts

  • Man City are unbeaten in their last seven Premier League run-ins with Everton (W4, D3).
  • Lukaku will be hoping to find the back of the net vs. the Citizens. Since his September 2013 Premier League debut, only Aguero (77) and Kane (59) have scored more than Romelu (54) in the English top-flight.
  • The Toffees are undefeated in 12 of their last 13 home games in the Premier League.
  • The Etihad side haven’t won at Goodison Park in the league since March 2013.

Team news

First and second in the league – Chelsea and Liverpool, respectively – face tricky games this weekend, handing third-placed Man City the perfect chance to gain ground in the title race. The Blues, currently in the midst of a controversy surrounding a bust-up between Conte and Costa, travel to Leicester; the Reds make the trip to in form Man United.

Unfortunately for the Citizens, a selection headache might just jeopardize their odds of winning at Goodison Park. Fernandinho is suspended for the weekend game, whilst Fernando is injured. Gabriel Jesus, despite having recently joined up with Guardiola’s boys, is not eligible to play.

Luckily for Man City, they will be welcoming back captain Vincent Kompany. The Belgian center-back is in contention to play, with Kevin De Bruyne expected to recover from illness in time.

In the Everton camp, Maarten Stekelenburg, James McCarthy, and Aaron Lennon have all overcome injury and could feature on Sunday. Idrissa Gueye has left the squad for the 2017 African Cup of Nations, but January signings Morgan Schneiderlin and Ademola Lookman could make their debuts.
