Just when things seemed to be on a roll for Chelsea, there seems to be a cloudy forecast ahead of their match against Leicester City.
The Guardian has reported that Diego Costa and coach Antonio Conte had a war of words on Friday, motivated by Costa's complaints about his fitness with one of the coaches. Apparently, Costa was not happy with the recovery process he was undergoing to correct an undisclosed injury, forcing Conte to get involved in the argument.
The Italian boss hadn't decided about Costa's presence in the team making the trip to Leicester during today's press conference.
"I have to check a couple of situations and then decide. I don’t want to say exactly what and give an advantage to our opponent,” he stated on Friday's presser.
Conte has been crucial for Costa's resurrection in the EPL, following a disappointing second season at Stamford Bridge.
But apparently, there's more to Costa's alleged injury. The Guardian reports that Costa is considering an offer from the Chinese Super League, which would grant him the mouth-watering amount of 30 million euros per season. Chelsea's execs believe that the 28-year old is considering the offer, even though his contract with the Blues ends in 2019.
In the meantime, all Conte can do is try to walk away from King Power Stadium with a win on Sunday. Unfortunately, he'll have to do it without one of his main weapons.
