  • In addition, Mourinho’s side boast an excellent home record. In their last 25 League Cup home games, they have lost only once – in 2005 vs. Chelsea.
  • The 20-time Premier League champions have won 10 of their last 11 meetings with the Tigers.

Pogba calls for Man United to finish Hull City off in the 1st leg

Jose Mourinho is looking for a 4th League Cup title to add to his list of silverware, but only one thing stand between his Manchester United side and a spot in the final: Hull City. The Red Devils will lock horns with their fellow Premier League side in a two-legged affair, with Old Trafford hosting the first run-in.

This means that Mourinho’s boys will make the trip to the KCOM Stadium for the second leg. Star midfielder Paul Pogba has called for his side to end the game in the first-leg, as they could be in for a tricky away tie.

“It’s a semi-final, we want to be in the final and we want to win that cup. If we have the chance to win any trophy we want to take it. It’s an important game for us and the second leg will be difficult so let’s try to finish the tie in the first leg," the Frenchman told MUTV

Unfortunately, the Special One will face a selection headache in defense due to a number of absent players. Marcos Rojo is unlikely to play after picking up a muscle injury in their recent FA Cup win, whilst Eric Bailly is away with Ivory Coast for the upcoming African Cup of Nations.

Hull City have similar selection woes. Curtis Davies (hamstring) won’t make the trip to Old Trafford, with Michael Dawson (shoulder) a doubt.
