Finally, there is some light at the end of the tunnel for Arsenal fans

Mesut Ozil will pen a new deal at Arsenal but he must be assured of one thing. The German midfielder recently held an interview with Kicker, and his future at the North London club was one of the main points of discussion.

Ozil, a former Real Madrid man, is said to have refused to sign a new deal at the club due to their unwillingless to offer him at least £250,000 a week. But his latest interview with the magazine has sent some positive signals to some of the club's fans as far as the contract negotiations are concerned.

The midfield maestro now claims that he is willing to extend his stay at the Emirates, but only if he is assured that club manager Arsene Wenger will stay. On the contrary, this is quite tricky especially for the #WengerOut battalion - they will now have to choose between the French manager or the German midfielder, or completely forget about having either of them leaving the club. He said:

"I am very, very happy at Arsenal and have let the club know that I would be ready to sign a new contract. The fans want that I stay and now it is just down to the club."

He added:

"The club knows that I am here most of all because of Arsene Wenger. He is the one who signed me and he is the one whose trust I have.

"The club also knows that I want to be clear what the manager is going to [in the future]."

In the Premier League this season, the 28-year-old has 17 appearances, five goals and three assists for the gunners. In the Champions League, he has six appearances, four goals and three assits to his name.
