Referee Mateu Lahoz took all the heat for his performance during the first leg of the Copa del Rey clash between Los Blancos and Sevilla.

James Rodriguez may have scored a brace, and despite his credentials to win Man of the Match honours, referee Mateu Lahoz should have been considered for the award.

Non-Real Madrid supporters were baffled by Lahoz's performance during the game, considering that the ref had some questionable calls that helped Los Blancos get an easy win.

First off, James' first goal was preceeded by a late challenge by Casemiro. Moments later, Raphael Varane seemed to take advantage of a defender by fouling him while scoring the second goal. But the cherry on top of his disappointing performance came when James Rodriguez pushed Luka Modric inside the bow. How did Lahoz react? He granted Los Blancos a penalty kick!
