Football fans around the world can’t wait for the Barcelona vs Real Madrid match to begin. Barca's Pep Guardiola hasn’t excluded himself from this list of anxious people.

Like Real Madrid, Barcelona successfully accomplished their mission of recording a victory in their last match ahead of El Clasico. Barca defeat Panathinaikos 3-0 in Europe in midweek and Pep Guardiola has now set his focus entirely on Monday night’s battle against Real Madrid in La Liga.

“I was just waiting for the moment to be able to talk about El Clasico,” the Blaugrana boss told the club’s official website following their Champions League win on Wednesday night.

“I want the game to begin. El Clasico is something that we all have to live with.

“The match will be intense and good to watch. There are a lot of expectations surrounding it.”

A week ago, Pep Guardiola had refused to comment on the Barcelona vs Real Madrid match, stating that “silence was the best thing at that stage”. He made one interesting remark though by saying:

“Every Clasico seems like it’s going to be the last. It also appears as if the world around it will end. All we’ll do is to try and make it a great game.”

Under Pep Guardiola, Barcelona have triumphed at every occasion against Real Madrid. There’s an end to every beginning, so when will the Blaugrana’s incredible form and record in El Clasico – under Guardiola’s leadership – end?
