Can Chelsea make it a ninth straight win on the trot?

Chelsea

September 24th. That was the last time Chelsea lost a Premier League match, when they were thrashed 3-0 by Arsenal in the London Derby. Since then, the Blues have won their past eight games, including a 4-0 drubbing of Manchester United and picking up six straight shut-outs. In their past two games, however, they have not just conceded a goal, but have had to come from behind. And their opponents weren't exactly the easiest.

First was another London Derby featuring Tottenham, which they bounced back from an early goal to win 2-1. Then, last weekend, they rebounded brilliantly against another title contender - Manchester City - to come from a goal down to win 3-1. With Arsenal winning their game against Stoke City, however, the onus will be on Antonio Conte's men to make it a ninth straight win to re-claim their spot on top of the Premier League table.

The hosts will be missing a few players for this game, including skipper John Terry due to injury and Oscar due to illness. Other doubts include Pedro and Diego Costa after both suffered knocks during the tie with Manchester City, but both should be able to feature. Meanwhile, Nemanja Matic is also in doubt after problems in training, and Kurt Zouma, who is still not 100 per cent fit after his own injury lay-off will likely play no part in this fixture.

West Brom

As for West Brom, they sit in 8th place, with a pretty solid three wins out of their last four fixtures. Despite their bad track record against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Tony Pulis's side have been quite impressive overall and have scored 20 goals so far. In addition, they have earned 10 points in the month of November, which was only bettered by Chelsea's 12. So, on paper, it may look like advantage Chelsea, but the Baggies could actually pose some problems for the Blues and this will be a game they certainly will want to establish a firm grip over as early as possible. Saido Berahino is one notable face that looks certain to miss out due to injury.
