All that you need to know ahead of El Clasico 2016
Did you know that today marks the third time ever since El Clasico happens on Matchday 14 of La Liga? If you look down in history, such instances have always been a goal fest for spectators. This most recently happened in 1965 when Real Madrid beat Barcelona 3-1 in the Spanish capital. The first time, however, was way back in January 1943 in an encounter that ended 5-5 at the Camp Nou. Could we see more of this, on Saturday?

1) Who has scored the most goals and made the most assists in El Clasico?
As strange as it may sound, as difficult as it may seem to accept, the fact remains that Lionel Messi has not bagged a single goal in El CLasico in almost 1,000 days. One thousand!
- Check out: 'Things that have happened since Messi's last El Clásico goal' for more.
Still, Lionel Messi fans have a lot to brag about as the father-of-two possesses golden records in El Clasico. He is tied with Real Madrid legend Di Stefano as the player with the most Clasico goals in the league. Overall, he is the topscorer (21) and also the top assist-maker (13) while he beats Cristiano Ronaldo 2-0 when it comes to El Clasico hat-tricks. Pretty stunning feats, aren't they!
Cristiano Ronaldo also holds impressive individual achievements. First of all, he is the Camp Nou's most dreaded enemy. With his 10 goals in his last nine appearances in the home of Cules, another factor has to be added: since the 2011/12 season, CR7 has never failed to contribute in El Clasico -- be it through an assist, or by scoring directly.

How Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo compare in La Liga ahead of El Clasico
3) How do MSN and BBC compare ahead of El Clasico?
Has anyone noticed that this season, there is no "BBC"? Well, Zinedine Zidane is gradually establishing a policy that honors every player on the squad. The grooming of Alvaro Morata (also the club's joint third topscorer like Karim Benzema on four goals) and Marco Asensio has broken the trendy BBC trio.
Stats reveal that Ronaldo has netted twice as many league goals as Gareth Bale. On top of that, the latter is ruled out for today's showdown. So without the BBC, can Real Madrid shut down MSN?
4) How is Real Madrid's collective record at the Camp Nou?
Fact: Los Blancos have won less than 20 per cent of their outings on Barcelona's soil. In the league in El Clasico, they do boast a better home record (52 wins) than the Catalans (49). And as far as head-to-head stats are concerned in the 172 Clasicos disputed in La Liga, Real Madrid have the edge with 72 victories, four more than Saturday's hosts.
5) Who wins the Luis Enrique vs Zinedine Zidane duel?
Quickly speaking, it's Zidane! The pair have clashed only once as managers, so far. That was last season at the Camp Nou and the French coach left the pitch with a 2-1 win in the bag. Of course, Luis Enrique still went on to lift La Liga title. This season, his side seat six points behind leaders Real Madrid. Defeat would wound the champions' mission of defending their trophy.
