Plus, there was a huge sigh of relief for Arsenal over the weekend, as they finally won in November.

Matchday 13 of the English Premier League handed us excitement and several hot post-match topics to discuss. All the top four teams earned victory, whilst fifth and sixth in the table – Tottenham and Man United – suffered a loss and disappointing home draw, respectively.

Chelsea continued to lead the pack with their impressive displays, whilst Man United stumbled to yet another disappointing home draw. There was also a huge blow for title hopefuls Liverpool, as Philippe Coutinho suffered a serious injury. Here is the round-up of this weekend’s action.

Coutinho update – how long will the Brazilian be sidelined?

There is nothing like a long-term injury to seriously derail one club’s title hopes, and that could now be the dilemma Liverpool are facing. The Reds lost Philippe Coutinho to a serious ankle injury which left him in tears during the 2-0 win over Sunderland.

The playmaker was stretchered off the pitch, with fears the Brazilian suffered ligament damage. The worry is now that Coutinho might miss the remainder of the season.

Official confirmation has not been made, but the player is due to undergo a scan at Liverpool. The former Inter Milan ace also thanked the fans on Instagram for their support.

Mourinho has the league’s most number of sending offs

Manchester United hosted West Ham in the league, and they were once again unable to win at home. Instead, the Red Devils drew 1-1, with Ibrahimovic scoring to earn the hosts a point after conceding first.

The game brought more attention, as Jose Mourinho was sent to the stands once more. He protested the referee’s decision to book Paul Pogba for diving, and even kicked a bottle in frustration before being given his marching orders.

That was the second timethat the Special One was kicked out of the pitch by the match official. That means no one else in the league has received more dismissals this season than the Portuguese boss.

As reported by Sky Sports, the FA are reviewing Mourinho’s dismissal. The likely punishment, given that he has already been slapped with a stadium ban, will likely be a two-game stadium ban – or more.

Arsenal can breathe a sigh of relief

The Gunners entered November – their worst month in history – hopeful that this month could be different. What followed were three consecutive draws in all competitions, including back-to-back tie with Tottenham and Man United in the league.

Their last Premier League game of November saw them host Bournemouth. Thanks to another Alexis Sanchez masterpiece, the north London outfit won 3-1 and ended the month with a victory.

The three points saw them keep pace with leaders Chelsea. Only three points separates the Blues from Wenger’s boys.
