Euro 2016 champions Portugal will face tough opponents in the 2017 Confederations Cup.

World football governing body FIFA has announced the two groups for the Confederations Cup to be played in Russia next season. The draw features eight teams in total as explained below:

Russia – The hosts

Germany – The world champions

Portugal – The Euro champions

New Zealand – OFC Nations Cup champions

Chile – Copa America champions

Mexico – 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup champions

Australia – AFC Asian Cup champions 

2017 African Cup of Nations Winner – To be announced

The draw was conducted in Kazan on Saturday November 26, 2016. The tournament will kick off on 17 June to 02 July in Russia.
