Ligue 1 - Matchday 14 overview

Despite suffering a hiccup on matchday 12, Nice still continue to lead the way. Les Aiglons have been truly impressive this season and should Lucien Favre's men continue in this same vein of form, they just may be able to really shake things up in French football by the time the term ends next May. However, they will have to pick themselves up after suffering a disapointing 3-0 loss midweek in Europa League action against Schalke.

Meanwhile, Monaco, who are three points behind Nice, sealed their spot in the Champions League round of 16 with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Tottenham. Les Rouges et Blancs could close the gap on the leaders with a win against Marseille, who have been largely disappointing this term. The visitors find themselves sitting just outside the top half of the table with 17 points, but a win could move them closer to the European football spots.

As for reigning champions PSG, Les Parisiens face a tough away test against Lyon to wrap up matchday 14. Unai Emery's men fought back to earn a 2-2 draw against Arsenal earlier this week in a very entertaining match at the Emirates and now will turn their attention to trying to catch leaders Nice. Unlike last season in which they cruised to the league title without much fuss, this time around is a lot tougher for PSG - which really makes for a more interesting title race for neutrals.
