Lionel Messi’s alleged top secret has been revealed, and he is not happy about it.

Argentina captain Lionel Messi is a furious man for a rare reason. According to the latest news doing rounds in various media outlets in Argentina, the Barcelona star has not been impressed by a journalists’ decision to leak one of his ‘top secrets.’

And there is nothing wrong about the so called secret – it just shows how the celebrated star has a heart of gold and the fact that he doesn’t want the whole world to know about it makes him even more adorable by his fans. According to journalist Juan Palo Varsky, the Blaugrana star was approached by Argentina’s NT security workers to tell him that they had not received their salaries for several months.

In a rare gesture of charity, Leo decided to settle all their salaries in full. Varsky told Metro 95.1 radio (as quoted by FOXSPORTS):

“Lionel Messi was in his room waiting for the game against Brazil in Belo Horizonte, when a knock at the door came.

“Two or three people appeared, all from the security team who look after the Argentine team and they said ‘Leo, we have to talk with you. For five or six months they have not paid us. The situation is complicated, you are the captain of the team, you know us, we are asking for your help.’”

English publication the Daily Mirror now claims that upon hearing the news of the unpaid wages, Messi called his father and instructed him to pay the security workers from the footballer’s personal account. Fresh reports from Spain now suggest that the footballer is furious that his act of charity has leaked. In the interview, Varsky added:

“When Messi finds out that someone told this he will be furious, but it doesn’t matter. There are a lot of actions he doesn’t want people to know about but I thought it pertinent to tell this because there is no reason not to, save for his anger.”

The football god is well-known for his charitable acts, although he prefers to conduct them away from the glares of the cameras. Some of his charitable works include the United National Children's Fund (UNICEF) where he served as a goodwill ambassador. He has also participated in HIV prevention, education and awareness, social inclusion of disabled children, and his very own Lionel Messi Foundation.
