Of course, Pep insists his intentions are to bring the best out of his players.

Pep Guardiola is known for imposing strict rules in his time with Barcelona and then Bayern Munich. Having taken up the role as Manchester City boss over the summer, the Citizens have proven no different.

The Spaniard quickly took away junk food from the menu, banning burgers and pizza from his player’s diet. Wi-Fi was then removed from the dressing room in order for his boys to remain solely focused on the task at hand: winning games.

If you thought those bans needed adjusting to, the latest one revealed might take you by surprise. Pep has reportedly banned his players from having sex after midnight. Yes, intercourse is allowed, but up until a point.

This claim was made by former Man City midfielder Samir Nasri, who enjoyed a short spell with Pep before moving to Sevilla on a season-long loan. The Frenchman told L’Equipe that this sex curfew had to be followed regardless of whether it’s the weekend.

The 45-year-old argued that this move reaped great results from Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski. Nasri said: "Relations must be before midnight. Even if you have a free day the following day.

"It's so you can have a good night's sleep.

"He told us this is how he managed to get the best out of [Lionel] Messi and [Robert] Lewandowski, and for them to avoid the maximum number of muscular injuries.

"He suppressed many things that were in the kitchen."

Nasri didn't stay long at the Etihad. He swiftly sealed a move to Spain, where he has been a hit, but could return to England in the summer once his loan spell ends.
