The Swiss exec revealed which team he supports, while adding some kind words about the Special One's personality.

José Mourinho was just handed a much-needed ego boost by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, as the Swiss referred to the Portuguese manager's personality in an interview with Sky Sports.

The former UEFA General Secretary spoke about how Mourinho should be considered as one of the best coaches of all time, while hinting that football can benefit from a personality such as Mourinho's.

"Mourinho is a man who has given lots of things for football. His tactics and personality should be more appreciated. I know that you either love him or hate him, but I can tell you that I fall on the first category," Infantino stated.

Mourinho recently served  a one-match ban for criticizing FA refs.

In fact, Infantino went on and hinted that if there were more people like Mourinho, football would be even more appreciated by fans.

"We need people like him, innovators who say what's on their mind. Football needs people that say things as they are, without being too diplomatic, and I'm sure Mourinho will go down in history as one of the all-time greats in this sport," Infantino added.

The attorney also revealed why he chose football as his favorite sport, and even shared which team he supports since his childhood days.

"My father took me to San Siro Stadium to watch Inter Milan. He was a big Inter fan, and it rubbed on me since day one. Once you go inside that stadium, it's like a virus takes over your body," the exec concluded.
