It might not have been an exciting affair, but it is now officially one of the most exciting Premier League clashes.

It wasn’t the most exciting North London Derby. Arsenal couldn’t muster proper passes and were weak in midfield; Spurs looked happy to settle for a draw.

And a tie is what Tottenham got, as Harry Kane’s penalty goal saw the away side draw 1-1 with the Gunners. It would have been victory for Pochettino’s boys had Kevin Wimmer not headed the ball into the back of his own net in the first half.

It was not the entertaining affair fans were hoping for, but it did set a new English Premier League record. After Kane converted from the spot to pull his side level, the North London Derby became the league’s highest-scoring fixture in history.

That’s right; clashes between Arsenal and Tottenham have seen more goals than the Merseyside derby, and the always heated Man United-Liverpool encounters.

The equalizing goal was the North London Derby’s 139th strike. Now it has left the Gunners in fourth and Spurs in fifth.
