Of course, since it had to do with the 2-1 Fenerbahce loss, it was for all the wrong reasons.

Jose Mourinho and his Manchester United side have been in the headlines, but for all the wrong reasons. A team expected to battle neighbors Manchester City for supremacy in England are nowhere close to challenging domestically or in the Europa League.

In Europe’s second-tier club competition, the Red Devils slumped to their second loss in four games after being defeated 2-1 away to Fenerbahce. The result left them in third spot, but luckily, only a point behind second and first.

Nonetheless, the loss did its damage regardless of Man United’s chances of progression. Paul Pogba got injured, Zlatan Ibrahimovic grabbed a player’s neck and could face punishment, and the Special One reached an embarrassing feat as manager at Old Trafford.

The Portuguese boss registered his fifth defeat, and in quick manner. In fact, the former Chelsea boss lost his fifth game quicker than David Moyes and Louis Van Gaal. To find the last Man United boss to lose five games quicker than Mourinho, one would have to go back 39 years.

Yes, that man was the late Dave Sexton. It took him 15 games; Mourinho needed 17 matches, though. Two games less, and Jose would have matched Sexton’s unflattering personal record.

With everything going wrong at Manchester United, a tricky trip to Swansea couldn't have come at a worse time. The 20-time Premier League champions will have to bounce back, and quick, if they wish to remain in the title race.
