Atletico, one of only three sides with a 100 percent record in this season’s Champions League tournament, heads into Tuesday’s fixture with qualification in reach. The Spanish giants host Russian outfit Rostov knowing a win will guarantee them a spot in the next round, with even a draw possibly enough.

Ivan Daniliants’s boys are in the worst possible form. They are winless in their last four games (D1, L3) and have suffered seven defeats in their last 12 games. To make things worse, they will have to beat a goalkeeper – Jan Oblak – who has kept 10 clean sheets in 16 games.

The last time these two sides meet, two weeks ago, it was Atletico who won by a slim 1-0 margin. Despite the home advantage, Los Rojiblancos have been rocked with fitness worries, as both Gameiro (knee) and Gaitan (hip) are doubts. The away side will be without Bukharov, ruled out with a muscular injury.

This game is a crucial for both sides, as one are staring at an early Champions League exit whilst the other can secure an early progression. Lose and PSV will pack their bags; whilst a win for Bayern will see them secure their spot in the next round – given Rostov don’t win.

The German giants have only ever lost once to their Dutch opponents in seven meetings. Nonetheless, the Eredivisie side boasts a wonderful home record against German clubs, winning nine out of 17 encounters (D3, L5).

The Bavarian, furthermore, have lost four and won only three in nine trips to Netherlands. Fortunately, the Bundesliga champions won’t have much to worry about in the injury department, as Martinez (thigh) and Ribery (muscle) are their only absentees.

PSV are without Zoet (muscle problem), Siem de Jong (unspecified), Hendrix (knee), Locadia (groin), whilst Narsingh (hamstring) is a doubt.
