There was one hilarious scene that many football fans did not see when Valencia hosted Barcelona at the Mestalla on Saturday. Goals from Lionel Messi (brace) and Luis Suarez were enough to give the visitors all the three points after securing a 3-2 win over the hosts in a thrilling La Liga encounter.
Here is what happened – as Lionel Messi was celebrating his winning goal in the 90th minute, Barcelona players assembled near the flag post to congratulate the lethal argentine. But the home fans, obviously agitated by Leo’s winner, threw bottles at Los Blaugrana players.
All that time, the 29-year-old was covered by the players as he celebrated the goal. But when he realized that it was raining bottles over his teammates, he turned, faced the home fans and celebrated right in front of their faces. The photos below tell the story even better.
