The Dutch ace also looked into how his former team approaches this game, considering that the club needs to focus on winning this tournament even if they didn't want to be included in it to begin with.
"I know Manchester United want to be in the Champions League, but it's how it is now and for me it is a very special group in the Europa League," the player added.
Van Persie left the club last season, as Louis Van Gaal thought he had nothing more to give back to the team. The all-time top scorer with the Dutch National Team managed to send the ball into the back of the net 58 times in 105 games with the Red Devils, helping them to win the EPL title and the Community Shield in his first year with the club.
