Bayern aim to end mini-slump as they welcome struggling visitors

Bayern Munich

For a club used to winning pretty much all the time, a three game win-less streak certainly is not something Bayern Munich and the team's fans are used to. But that is the situation die Roten find themselves in heading into this fixture. After a blistering start, things began to slow down a bit for Carlo Ancelotti's side. First was a narrow 1-0 win over Hamburg, which happens to be the last match the Bavarian titans won, followed by a stalemate against Koln, a 1-0 loss to Atletico Madrid, and finally a shock 2-2 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt this past weekend.

These string of results have some already talking of a crisis at Bayern, but in all honesty, all teams go through difficult patches. Even top sides can have a few off games here and there, but given that they are on a 13-match winning streak at the Allianz Arena, they will be loath to see that run end. Fortunately for the hosts, they will have pretty much everyone available, save for Franck Ribery. Arjen Robben, who has long struggled with injuries, featured during the two-all draw and even opened the scoring for die Roten.

PSV

As for PSV, they, too are also on a three-match run without a win. Phillip Cocu's men last tasted victory back on September 24th, and since then, have drawn their past trio of fixtures. The visitors will be surely very disappointed to be on just one point, as they had a golden chance to pick up all three points against Russian debutants Rostov, but were quite poor and in fact had to come from behind twice to salvage a 2-2 tie.

Unfortunately, history is not exactly on PSV's side here. No Dutch club have ever beaten Bayern Munich at their home ground. To complicate things, PSV's own record is quite disappointing, with just one win out of their last 14 trips to Germany. That was back in December 1977, when they defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1.
