And the former Red Devils great tipped Liverpool to win on Monday.

Manchester United’s results in the English Premier League have been mixed so far, despite the hype surrounding the 20-time champions due to the arrival Jose Mourinho – and the several big-name players he brought with him.

A 4-1 thumping of Leicester was followed by a disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Stoke in the league. Unfortunately for the Red Devils, they have to find a solution – and quick – as they travel to Liverpool on Liverpool.

Many tip the Reds – in form under Jurgen Klopp – for the win, even Man United legend Paul Scholes, who claims his former club are yet to find their true identity under the Special One.

Two defeats and a draw are some of Man United’s unflattering results, and Scholes believe this is down to Mourinho’s failure to find his perfect starting eleven, having used 15 outfield players in their opening seven games.

However, Scholes did label this as a “settling-in” period, hinting he has faith that it will eventually fade away with time. He said (as per BBC Sport):

"He was not ruthless enough in the off-season.

"There is so much confusion about who should play.

"What I saw of Mourinho at Chelsea, he had 13 or 14 players who played every week. He never rested players even in the League Cup or whatever competition he was in.

"With United it is still a settling-in period - it is going to take a bit of time for them to knit together and see what they are about.

"Is there an identity to the team yet? I don't think there is."

On the issue of who will win at Anfield, Paul said: "If you were betting, you would be betting on Liverpool.”

The Old Trafford side can take pleasure in the fact that they are on a four-game winning streak vs. Liverpool in the league.
