The strike increased his lead in the top-scorers’ chart, as it was his seventh goal this season – his fifth in as many games.
To put Costa’s contribution into perspective, he has had a hand in 50 English Premier League goals in 62 games, scoring 39 and assisting 11. Since debuting, only Sergio Aguero (55 goals) and Harry Kane (48) have found the back of the net more times.
