Team news – Can Real Madrid cope with their current injury crisis?

Real Madrid look to return to winning ways when they resume their Liga campaign, but unfortunately, this is a task they must achieve without several key first-team players.

Marcelo returned to training but is unlikely to feature on Saturday, meaning Zidane is still without the Brazilian full-back and his compatriot Casemiro.

Modric, out with a knee injury, also remains on the sidelines, whilst James Rodriguez, though expected to play on Saturday, could still be short of match fitness.

The cherry on top Los Blancos’ bitter cake came when captain Sergio Ramos fell to injury in the last game of the most recent international break, with the center-back now expected to miss 4-6 weeks of action.

It’s not all bad news for Zidane’s boys, as the Frenchman will have Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo back in his starting lineup – the latter in top form.

Although the three-time Ballon d’Or winner has only one goal under his name in La Liga, he scored five in two games during the World Cup qualifiers.

Real Betis have no new injury worries, but Gus Poyet will have to continue in the absence of Aissa Mandi, Riza Durmisi, Antonio Sanabria, Jonas Martin and Rafa Navarro.
