The French wingman believes his compatriot needs to show the same intensity and drive for many years before being considered one of the game's finest footballers.

Apparently, some French players remain skeptical about Antoine Griezmann's skills.

In an interview with German newspaer Sport Bild, French wingman Franck Ribery revealed that he doesn't feel Griezmann has shown what it takes to be considered one of the best players in the world. According to Ribery, his compatriot needs to show consistency for more than just a year in order to be praised by the whole world.

"He can't be considered to be a world class player yet. He has only shined for one year, and he needs to keep that up for more than just a season. When he achieves that, he can be named among the best in the world," Ribery stated.

Ribery added that, if that were the case, he should have been considered among the best in the world for many years.

"When he keeps the same kind of performances for 10,12 or 15 years, then I'll congratulate him. I managed to do that, I was always among the best for quite some time. The only reason I'm not considered as one of the best right now is because I'm injured," Ribery added.

Griezmann has been named by most experts as one of the top candidates to fight for this year's Ballon D'Or alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez. Ribery was included in the final shortlist to win the award in 2013, but he lost it against the Portuguese superstar.
