Argentina will be hopeful that the Man City ace is eligible to play vs. Paraguay.

Both Argentina and Manchester City fans were treated to horrible news, as reports emerged that star striker Sergio Aguero suffered a calf injury during training.

Although the Citizens have fared well in the absence of the former Atletico Madrid man, La Albiceleste – already without captain Lionel Messi – could have done without another injury.

The South American giants take on Paraguay on Wednesday in the last of their World Cup qualifiers for the current international break.

A win is vital for the two-time World Cup champions, as their 2-2 draw with Peru has left Argentina in fifth spot.

Luckily, they have received a huge boost from Aguero. The 28-year-old spoke to Ole in a recent interview, handing in a positive update on his fitness.

According to the player, he stands a chance of featuring in the Paraguay clash; albeit he admits that the decision to play him or not solely rests on the manager.

“I’m much better. After the Peru game I had two days to recover and (on Sunday) I played a little football. I’m quite well

“I’m better: we did test, I did well and I’m trying to get as fit as possible for Tuesday.

“You always want to play in the team and try to do the best. For now I feel good physically.

“Bauza has the decision: for Tuesday I hope to be available.”

The player also admitted that he is in contention to face Everton when action resumes in the English Premier League.
