Karim Benzema's career with the French National Team may be on hold, but some of his team-mates don't forget about him.
Speaking to the media prior to the France-Bulgaria game, striker Antoine Griezmann revealed that the team could benefit from Benzema's skills, hoping that the striker can return to the team as soon as possible.
"France misses him, because he is quite a good player. It's easy to play when he's around. I get along with him both on and off the pitch. I'm sure the team would connect better if he was here, and all of the guys would be glad to welcome him back," Griezmann stated to Le Monde.
Benzema has been ruled out of Les Bleus for the entire year after attempting to blackmail team-mate Mathieu Valbuena. He missed the UEFA Euro 2016 due to this incident, and was expected to return to the team after they lost the final against Portugal, but coach Didier Deschamps chose not to call him up.
During Benzema's absence, Griezmann has taken over as the team's leader, winning the UEFA Euro scoring title with six goals.
