Match facts

  • After eight games, Brazil (15 points) boast more than double of Bolivia’s points (seven).
  • The Selecao sit in second position in the standings; La Verde are third from bottom.
  • Their last meeting saw the five-time World Cup champions win 4-0 in a friendly.
  • Brazil have never lost a home game vs. Bolivia (W4, D5).
  • The Selecao have conceded only one goal at home vs. Bolivia, whilst scoring 18.

Thiago “Monstro” Silva returns

Despite Thiago Silva being one of Brazil’s most feared defenders, the PSG ace had – up until now – breen frozen out of the national side.

The 32-year-old fell down the pecking order with Dunga after the Selecao crashed out of the 2015 Copa America, and was overlooked by the national side since then.

However, the arrival of Tite has handed Silva fresh hope, as he was handed a call-up for the clashes with Bolivia and Venezuela in the current international break.

The former AC Milan center-back will be keen on protecting Brazil’s goal, as the five-time World Cup champions look to maintain their winning streak. Since the shock defeat to Peru, Neymar and Co. have won their last two games.

Their last tie was against Colombia, which saw Philippe Coutinho and the Barcelona superstar get on the score sheet en route to a 2-1 victory.

Bolivia are also unbeaten in their last two games, but their most recent tie saw them play out a goalless draw with Chile.
