Team news

Hull City

Hull City may have started off this campaign well - by beating reigning champs Leicester on opening day - but things have already started to go awry for the side. They recently were humiliated 5-1 by a rampant Liverpool side and in fact, their solitary home victory was that result against Leicester. Currently under the guidance of caretaker manager Mike Phelan, the hosts will come into this game with a whole host of absences. Michael Dawson, Allan McGregor, Alex Bruce, Greg Luer, Brian Lenihan, and Moses Odubajo are those who miss out due to injury, whilst Ahmed Elmohamady is suspended for getting red-carded in the loss to Liverpool.

Chelsea

Chelsea, unfortunately also come into this game having suffered back-to-back defeats. After a 2-1 loss to Liverpool, Antonio Conte's side appeared to turn a corner by overcoming a 2-0 deficit against Leicester in the League Cup. A late brace from Cesc Fabregas - who came off the bench - coupled with efforts from defenders Gary Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta were enough to help the Blues beat the Foxes 4-2.

However, if fans were feeling pretty good after that result, they were brought crashing down to Earth as Chelsea were embarrassingly thrashed 3-0 by Arsenal in last weekend's London Derby. It was the first time the Blues had lost to the Gunners in five years, and the worst overall performance since Conte took over earlier this summer. Cahill in particular was especially disappointing as the English defender was also responsible for one of Swansea's goals during Chelsea's 2-2 draw. However, captain John Terry could make his return after suffering an ankle injury, but Kurt Zouma has still not yet fully recovered and will not make an appearance until after the international hiatus
