Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has lamented about what he described as a ‘poisoned gift.’

The Portuguese tactician was speaking after his side’s 1-0 win over Ukrainian outfit Zorya Luhansk in their Europa League Group A fixture. A second-half goal from Zlatan Ibrahimovic was all the hosts needed to win this fixture but Mou seemed worried about what’ was coming up next.

The outspoken manager referred to the club’s upcoming fixtures as a ‘poisoned gift’ during a post-match interview. The Red Devils face Liverpool on Monday night after their match against Stoke this weekend. They will then play Turkish giants Fenerbahce in their next Europa League fixture, before facing Chelsea. He said:

''We have to play seriously in the Europa League. We could play Liverpool on the Saturday or the Sunday. We play Liverpool on the Monday.

''We don’t have the best conditions because we play against two top Premier League teams who don’t have European competition.

''I think it’s impossible, the poisoned gift is already there. We just have to play Monday, Thursday and then the Sunday.’’

Here is a quick look at the club’s next four games

Sunday, Oct, 2 – Stoke City (H)

Monday Oct, 17 – Liverpool (A)

Thursday Oct, 20 – Fenerbahce (H)
