The Costa Rican goalie played for the first time this season against the yellow and black side, conceding a couple of goals in the process.

It's a rather strange thing to watch a goalkeeper admitting his mistakes, especially after some of his team-mates criticized him. Today, Keylor Navas admitted he could have done a better job to avoid Borussia Dortmund's first half goal during Tuesday's UCL clash.

Speaking to UEFA.com, the Central American goalie downplayed all controversy and embraced his mistake.

"The team put in a great effort. It is evident in the first goal I made a mistake. It took me a bit by surprise, I took the wrong decision and it cost us a goal. We will work on those details so it doesn’t happen again," Navas said.

Navas' words come after Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale were caught on camera criticizing how he attacked the ball, while Sergio Ramos did the same during the game despite provoking the free kick that ended up in the back of Real Madrid's net.

Ramos looked back at Navas, clearly asking him to hold on to the ball.

Despite not having the best of games against the German side, Navas will keep on working to win a starting spot with Los Blancos even with Kiko Casilla doing a good job while he was recovering from an ankle surgery.

"My mentality doesn’t change. I have to train hard, improve and it is the coach’s decision. I felt calm during the whole game despite the long months I’ve been out. Thanks to god I am back and able to help my team-mates," Navas concluded.
