If you thought star players were above the law at Arsenal, immune to landing in hot water, you thought wrong.
As written in a report by the Mirror, one of the Gunners’ biggest names, Alexis Sanchez, has found himself in a bit of trouble with Arsene Wenger ahead of their home clash with Chelsea.
According to the report, it had everything to do with the penalty that he took in the 4-1 win over Hull City, which the player unfortunately missed.
Wenger was left “infuriated” by the Chilean’s action, as he should not have been the one to take the spot-kick. Arsenal’s number one designated penalty taker is Santi Cazorla, with even Theo Walcott ahead of the former Barca man.
Alexis, however, wanted to take the penalty, a decision which left the Spaniard shocked. Wenger has warned his South American attacker not to overstep the rules, which means Santi will be tasked with converting spot-kicks should the north London outfit win a penalty against Chelsea.
The article made no mention of how the 27-year-old took Wenger’s warning, but fans will still be worried, given the rumors linking him with a move to Manchester City.
