Arsenal's Welsh ace will have to wait to return to the pitch at the Emirates.

Arsenal fans hoping to see star midfielder Aaron Ramsey back in action and playing alongside Granit Xhaka, Santi Cazorla, or Francis Coquelin – depending on whom Wenger prefers – may be disappointed.

The reason: the Welsh ace is set for another three weeks on the sidelines despite suffering his injury way back in their opening clash with Liverpool, as Arsene Wenger admitted that the 25-year-old is unlikely to return until after the international break.

The 4-3 defeat at home to the Reds saw the Gunners ace pick up a hamstring injury which kept him out of the north London giants’ following four games plus his national side’s opening 2018 World Cup qualifier.

This will come as a huge blow to both Arsenal and the Dragons, as Wenger’s boys host Chelsea on Saturday, whilst Chris Coleman’s crew play Austria and Georgia October 6th and 9th, respectively.

Le Prof said, as per the Guardian: “Aaron is still struggling with his hamstring and I don’t think that he will be available against Basel or at Burnley so, before the break, he will not be available,” Wenger said. “We had a few disappointments because he was close to joining again and, every time, he is not completely ready. He is not far, but we have to be cautious with him.

“He has a small grade-one hamstring but he is not completely free in his mind yet to push completely, so we stop him every time when he has a little pain. He is in the last days of his rehab and, as long as he is not completely comfortable, we do not push him.”

When asked whether Ramsey’s history with injuries decided the means in which Wenger handled the player, he said: “Not really, because it’s nothing major. But I am a bit more cautious than I would be. If he was ready to play, I would involve him in the squad, but he is not. Will he go away with Wales? I don’t think so.”

The Welshman surprisingly started Arsenal’s opening English Premier League game despite his stellar campaign in Euro 2016.

Arsenal’s first game after the upcoming international break ends is a clash with Swansea on October 15.
