Injury-stricken midfielder Jack Wilshere could leave the Emirates in the next 24 hours.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is set to leave the Emirates Stadium on loan, according to the Press Association Sport. The England international has only made two appearances for the Gunners this season, and is believed to be on his way out of the club before the transfer deadline on Wednesday. He was conspicuously missing in Sam Allardyce’s England squad for the match against Slovakia during the international break due to the lack of playtime this season.

Wilshere had a promising start to his career with the Gunners- he made his debut for the North Londoners back in 2008 against Blackburn Rovers and then became the fifth 16-year-old to play in the Champions League. He made his debut for the Three Lions at the age of 18. But his career was plagued by a series of injuries that limited him to only 159 appearances for the North Londoners and 34 appearances for his country.Wilshere out injured

Despite his injury problems last season, former England boss Roy Hodgson decided to give him a lifeline at the Euro 2016 but his impact was barely felt as the Englishmen were sent packing by minnows Iceland in the quarters.

With the availability of new signing Granit Xhaka at the midfield alongside other established midfielders such as Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey, Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny, Wilshere’s options at the North London club are limited. La Liga side Valencia are said to be monitoring his situation in North London and could make a surprise move if he is permitted to leave.
