Team news

Chelsea

Having opted to rotate his squad for Chelsea's mid-week League Cup tie, Antonio Conte is expected to again field a full-strength line-up for this fixture. Willian is still struggling with a calf problem, meaning that the Brazilian may  sit this one out and will hence give Pedro a chance to feature from the start. Young defender Ola Aina is also struggling with a knock from their mid-week match and will have to be evaluated shortly before Saturday's game. Meanwhile, N'Golo Kante, John Terry, Oscar, and Eden Hazard will reclaim their starting berths as Conte looks to maintain Chelsea's perfect start to the nascent campaign.

Although they have made it two wins in two games, Chelsea have been very fortunate that Diego Costa, who scored the game winner in both matches, has not been sent off. In addition, they are still very much a work in progress as they have yet to keep a clean sheet in their three competitive fixtures so far. Even more concerning is the fact that the Blues nearly threw away a three goal lead during their mid-week clash with lower-tier side Blackburn Rovers.

Only Kurt Zouma and Marco Van Ginkel remain definite absentees, with the French defender still continuing his long rehab process following his major knee injury and subsequent surgery.

Burnley

Burnley arrive in England's capital having picked up a morale-boosting 2-0 win over Liverpool. Considering that the Reds had scored four against Arsenal during a seven-goal thriller, the win for the newly promoted side was an impressive shock indeed. The Clarets first made their top-flight debut back in 2009, but have never managed to stay afloat, so the primary objective for manager Sean Dyche this season is quite clear: survival. Although they are now out of the League Cup after losing in painful fashion to Accrington Stanley, the team can now focus all their efforts on the league as they prepare for a very difficult series of fixtures looming on the horizon.
