Despite being interested in parting ways with the striker, Jürgen Klopp vetoed the transfer since the conditions were not satisfying enough for the Reds.

Liverpool needs to offload some players from their frontline, but they won't enter any bad deals while doing it.

Reports by The Guardian claim that Crystal Palace had a bid to sign Christian Benteke rejected today, as the Reds don't feel the terms offered by the Eagles are satisfying enough to part ways with the Belgian. Benteke joined Liverpool last year on a £32.5M transfer from Aston Villa, but he failed to impress the Kop during his first season with the club.

Alan Pardew's crew needs to add some talent up front after Yannick Bolasie's departure to Everton on Monday. One more option for the team would be signing Sporting's Islam Slimani, but Pardew's top target seems to be Benteke.

Liverpool's coach Jürgen Klopp revealed last month that he wasn't considering neither Benteke nor Mario Balotelli as part of his team, and urged them to look for other employment opportunities.
