Premier League giants Manchester United are leading the race to sign Brazilian starlet Gabriel Barbosa. This comes just a few days after the English giants missed a chance to sign Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Jesus, who joined rivals Manchester City on loan from Palmeiras.
The Sun reports that the Red Devils are plotting a £30m bid for the 19-year-old Santos forward, who has attracted the interest of Premier League defending champions Leicester City. He has also emerged as a shock transfer target for a number of European giants such as Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Juventus, but Man United boss Jose Mourinho is said to be keen on hijacking the move.

The report adds that the Red Devils could place a formal bid in the next 48 hours for the talented youngster who has become an instant hit at the Rio Olympics in Brazil. The Community Shield champions are reportedly willing to pay his £26m release clause and an extra £4m as agent fees before the end of the summer transfer window. If the deal goes through, the Brazilian wonderkid would become the fifth summer signing for Mourinho after bringing Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkitaryan and Paul Pogba to Old Trafford.
