Swedish manager Sven-Goran Eriksson feels the Spaniard is the right man for the job, even if the team's owners are not as patient as they should be.

Pep Guardiola's resume is good enough to guarantee a successful stint with Manchester City, according to the Sky Blues' former boss, Sven-Goran Eriksson.

The Swedish coach, who was sacked by the team back in 2008, believes that the former Bayern Munich boss will be able to handle the pressure and lead the Citizens to the EPL title, given that he's managed to do so elsewehere.

"I'm sure Guardiola is going to do a great job there. Guardiola will do very well for City in the Premier League, there’s no doubt about that. He won everything in Spain and he won almost everything in Germany with Bayern Munich," Eriksson told The Mirror.

After stints with England, Manchester City & Mexico, Eriksson is currently coaching in the Chinese Super League.

The former England and Mexico boss also referred to Guardiola's need for immediate results, considering that his new bosses will want their investment to pay off as soon as possible.

"It's the same all over the world. If you're Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern, Manchester United or City now, they want to see results because they're big clubs and the amount of players they have is incredible. It's easy to understand the owners," the coach added.

Last, but not least, the Swedish manager revealed his excitement to have Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola battling for a title not only in the same league, but also in the same city.

"That's good for the Premier League and the city of Manchester. One team has Mourinho, one has Guardiola, so it's not bad!" Eriksson concluded.

Guardiola will have his first game as Manchester City's boss in the EPL when the Citizens host Sunderland next Saturday.
